Speakers annouced for B'nai B'rith lunch
Gerard Nocera, Executive Vice President and Director of Real Estate, SL
Green Realty Corp., and Dan Margulies, Senior Vice President, Georgia
Malone & Co., Exclusive New York Buyer-Broker for AIMCO (Apartment
Investment and Management Co.), will speak at a special B'nai B'rith Real
Estate Unit luncheon on REITs Wednesday, December 3, 12:00 noon, at the
Cornell Club, 6 East 44th Street, Ivy Room. Their topic will be " An
Inside Look at How REITs Shop for Property."
Harry Zlokower, Co-chair of the B'nai B'rith Real Estate Unit, SAID,
"REITs have become astute buyers and evaluators of New York real estate.
"We will get first hand commentary on how two major players acquire
property, AIMCO for multi-family apartment houses and SL Green for
commercial office buildings."
Dan Margulies joined Georgia Malone & Co. this year after a long career
as Executive Director of the Community Housing Improvement Program (CHIP).
At Georgia Malone, Margulies focuses on identifying and acquiring
apartment portfolios in the New York area on behalf of AIMCO, a $14
billion NYSE-listed
REIT which owns 380,000 apartments throughout the country.
Gerard T. Nocera is responsible for all capital projects, and leasing
and management of properties owned by SL Green, an NYSE-listed REIT that
owns 25 office
properties with over 10 million square feet in Midtown Manhattan. SL
Green is the only publicly traded REIT which specializes exclusively in
this niche.
Nocera has directed leasing and marketing programs for SL Green since
1991. Earlier he was a promotional broker for seven years and also served
as a landlord representative for The Cohen Brothers. Nocera has a B.A.
from Duquesne University.
